Spring is truly here.
The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming and my sinuses are flaring (but that’s a different blog and a different bottle of wine). As I transition and adjust to clearer skies and warmer weather, the thing I like most about spring is the color. Which you ask? All of them – the brights, the bolds, the florals, the stripes, the dots and everything in between!
As I was getting ready for church and mentally going through my closet (by now it’s safe to assume that’s my favorite way of figuring out what to wear), I remebered I had a khaki colored sundress. But by itself, it’s so plain Jane. So then I began to think of ways to jazz it up. What better way then a cardigan and scarf (and you all know how I feel about scarves, just check out my blog).
But when I put it all together, it was still missing something. There was no razzle-dazzle. No sprickle-sprackle. Just as I was on the verge of meeting frustration at the door, I saw something out of the corner of my eye that was just the right piece of razzle-dazzle I needed. Glasses. But just not any glasses. Baby blue glasses that matched my cardigan and scarf to a tee.
I am a natural eye glass wearer and have been wearing them since the third grade. But anyone who knows me, knows that I love funky and colorful glasses. And it never ceases to amaze me how something that at first represented nerdy-geekdom, now represents high fashion and individuality. Nonetheless, I love all my frames the same.
When it comes to adding statements pieces, they don’t have to necessarily be pieces that make sense. And a lot of the time, it’s those fun, random pieces that help connect your razzle to your dazzle. But no matter what the statement the piece makes, as long as it’s a statement of you, that’s all that matters. Who cares what other people think? No one has to understand it and you don’t need their approval to wear it. Just think. Who can make a statement of you…better than you? And if you like it, I love it! ❤️
No one has ever said fashion had to be dull and boring. So have fun, live it up, and do what you do best, which is being you!
