“I’ll always love my mama, she’s my favorite girl…”
– The Intruders
I don’t think that I could have expressed it better myself. Thanks Intruders!
On this special day for mothers, I want to make sure that I take the time to highlight the lovely lady in my world — my mother.
For all the awesomeness that is me, I must give credit where credit is due. This divalicious woman has taught me what it means to be a lady, to be confident, to be different, but most importantly she gave me permission to be myself and instilled in me to know that being me is beautiful.
She taught me how to embrace every part of me. That it’s okay to go against the grain. She taught me how to enjoy me and to know sometimes that you just have to laugh at yourself and have fun — and for those who know me, know this is something that I do quite often =)
She also taught me some of the basics of womanhood, like makeup. I’ll always remember watching her put on makeup in the mirror and hoping that I’ll be as good as her at it one day.
It is from her that I learned the first rule of Diva 101 …
“No matter what, at the end of the day… It’s all about the shoes!”
Even when there were times I wanted to give up, she taught me how to persevere and push forward.
She taught me how to never give up and to always follow my dreams. To her I say “Thank You” – thank you for believing me and supporting me in everything I do. For being my biggest cheerleader and my dedicated coach. For being my confidant and my best friend.
Thank you for showing me the type of woman I aspire to be and the type of diva I want to be modeled after. I love you with all my heart and appreciate you more than words can ever tell.
Happy Mothers Day Mom
